For the women who wear many hats.

Some mornings, I start my day outside, catching a moment for myself and slowly sipping warm tea. My to-do list is growing in my head by the minute, and so are my priorities for the week. At the same time, I know what to expect in my day-to-day life. And what I often expect is the unexpected.

Unpredictability is a constant. And I have learned to take it in stride.

You may be able to relate to this, but I wear many hats in life: small business owner, mom, wife, dog walker, cook, cleaner, logistics expert, problem solver. The list goes on. In my 50s, after creating Devi over the past few years, it feels like life is a merry-go-round that I can't just hop off.

Comfortable hand block-printed cotton dresses by Devi

The reality is, Devi comes together while sitting in my car in parking lots, in appointment waiting rooms, scribbled on napkins, in the in-betweens of life, more than it ever has at my desk, in my own cocoon.

When you're creating your own thing in this season of life, you believe in yourself in ways you never have before. It's intrinsic, built on years of realizations, failures and reckonings. These are the women who make up the Devi community: badass women moving through familiarity and the unknown with purpose, precision and patience.

I was telling somebody the other day, if there's one gift I could give my younger self, it would be:

"You really are good enough. Not just good enough, you are great. And you don't need to change anything for other people."

Women in this era of our lives, it's not that we think we're perfect. We're just not apologizing anymore.

We're occupying space, and we know we're worthy of it.

It's truly about the people

Our clothing is made slowly, side by side with artisans and partners whose stories don't end at the workshop, but continue at shared meals, long conversations and laughter around the table.

In a world where fashion often leaves behind waste, inequity and forgotten hands, we choose a different path. Our mission is to create collective care that transcends the dress itself and uplifts everyone in the chain: artisans, suppliers and you. Read about our artisans and approach.
