From Rashmin - Founder

A few borrowed days. One suitcase of ideas. A heart full of hope. That’s how Devi began to take form.

Before Devi, I was deep in the corporate biotech world, wearing clothes that looked good and never questioning if they could be more comfortable. Becoming a mother changed that. With no time and a changing body that craved luxurious fabrics beyond cotton (and at an affordable price point!), I started reaching for the colorful, block-printed dresses and pants I’d brought back from Rajasthan. Flowy, eclectic, freeing. And in turn, women began to take notice.

Devi was born from that moment. From believing that women deserve to feel and be seen as our full selves—not as compromisers, not as afterthoughts!—every single day. That we don’t have to settle for the polyester blends of mainstream fashion instead of sustainable textiles that highlight our dreams, selfhood, and conviction.

That small spark of “Maybe there’s something here…” put me on a path to India, to the male-dominated world of Jaipuri textiles, learning the ropes of clothing design and entrepreneurship. A few years later, I've found my community of artisans who believe in Devi as much as I do and thread their integrity into each of the garments you hold and wear.

Here’s to what can bloom in the chaos, the courage, and the quiet corners we carve for ourselves. And the possibilities of a dress that flows with us as we are.

With love,
Rashmin J.
